The main restaurant area is also a gallery where we display works by local artist Richard Moult.

Richard was born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1968, and settled in Shropshire in 1997, where his career and vocation as a painter of landscapes began.

Richard says "I work primarily in gouache, and strive to express something of the Divine that is revealed in Nature. For me, this revealing is often at its most profound in the light of a dawn and dusk, and in the flow of clouds. I regard each one of my paintings as an adoration to the sacred marriage of land and sky."

He is self-taught, and since 1997 has had work displayed in major venues in Welshpool (Picture House); Ludlow (at the Silk Top Hat and with The Marches Artists, both of whom he exhibits with on a yearly basis), York, Leominster, Clun, Ingleby (Derbyshire), Cirencester, Newport, South Wales and Wimbledon.

He has also undertaken several commissions - most notably a painting of St. Edwards Church at Hopton Castle, Shropshire: the first ever painting of this subject.

Richard’s work is available to purchase so please contact us if you are interested in more details.
